PLABA Leadership Team

Members of the Prior Lake Amateur Baseball Association Board of Directors are elected volunteers who represent the organization, and develop and implement the vision for the future of Prior Lake Amateur Baseball.

Joseph Chapman, President As one of the original board members of PLABA, Joe has overseen all functions and operations of the organization and it's members including financial, organizational, and strategic initiatives. In addition, Joe currently acts as the General Manager for the Jays, Mudcats, and Mudbirds clubs. In his spare time, Joe spends a lot of his summer making Veteran's Field the gem of a ballpark that it is. Contact Joe at jchapman@plaba.org.

Darwin "Buff" Busselman, Vice President For as long as their has been quality baseball in Prior Lake, there has been Darwin Busselman. Busselman taught in the Prior Lake School District before retiring recently and has coached baseball for over 35 years. He is still the head coach of the Prior Lake Lakers of the Missota Conference and resumed his post as a Director of PLABA in 2006. In Fall 2006, he announced his retirement as manager from the Prior Lake Jays, but will continue to be involved in player development. Contact Buff at dbusselman@plaba.org.

Jerry Maas, Executive Director In 2006, Jerry was involved in the process of bringing an over-35 baseball team to Prior Lake. 2006 marked the inaugural year for the Prior Lake Mudbird, with Jerry leading the charge as manager. Jerry is actively involved in the Minnesota baseball community and is a board member of the Minnesota Senior Men's Amateur Baseball Association. Contact Jerry at jmaas@plaba.org.

Don Bohnsack, Secretary Whether it be coaching, assisting with park maintenance, or maintaining the concession stand, Don has been involved with Prior Lake Amateur Baseball since the 1980's. Don was instrumental in bringing a Class 'C' ballclub to the community and was the first manager for the Prior Lake Mudcats in 1991. To this day, Don is still a Mudcats supporter and helps "behind the scenes" with anything extra that needs to be done. Contact Don at dbohnsack@plaba.org.

Allan Hoppe, Director Al Hoppe has been assisting with management duties on the Prior Lake Jays since 2002. Hoppe has assisted with areas of the program including concessions, team financials, and general ballpark operations. He has served on the board for the last several years. Justin Braun, Director Justin Braun has been with PLABA and the Prior Lake Jays since 2001. He has served as an assistant coach with the Jays, and Director of Communications for PLABA until taking over the Secretary post several years ago. During the 2006 PLABA Elections, he was named as the new manager of the Prior Lake Jays replacing the retiring Darwin Busselman. Contact Justin at jbraun@plaba.org.

Greg Faue, Director Greg Faue has been involved with Prior Lake Amateur Baseball since the late 80's. Greg is currently the Manager of the Prior Lake Mudcats and was recently elected to participate as an Executive Director of the PLABA Board.
